Six thousand Canadians lost their light and heat because of a snow stormIce storm that came down Friday in the south-eastern Canadian province of Manitoba, normally the home of six thousand people. Altogether, there were 120 open wires, the temperature in the areas affected by the disaster had dropped to five degrees below zero Celsius.
According to ITAR-TASS, because of the Thanksgiving Day restoration work may be delayed until next Tuesday. In hospitals and nursing homes supply of electricity is provided by diesel and petrol generators.
The problem with the power supply will not become the only after a snow storm, because of ice was closed several roads, bad weather has provoked dozens of accidents. Some areas of the province were without telephone service. Authorities ask residents to stay at home until the situation is stabilized.
