In the dream, the human brain behaves like remembers something

Researchers from the University of California found that the human brain during sleep behaves as if something recalls.
Scientific experiments related to the study of brain activity during sleep, was in several stages. Researchers concluded that, during natural or drug-induced sleep (under anesthesia), the human brain behaves actively. The activity is similar to the process of recollection of any event, writes portal InFuture.
For the first time researchers have been able to measure brain activity during sleep. To this end, U.S. researchers studied the behavior of individual neurons in different parts of the brain that are involved in memory formation.
Special technique for the study of the activity of individual neurons in the brain will determine in what areas is precisely this activity and the mechanism of its spread to other parts of the brain.
At the head of this study was Professor Neurophysics Mayank R. Mehta from the Department Neurophysics. The experiment was conducted on laboratory mice. During the study, researchers examined the mechanisms that take place in the new and old centers of the brain, the neocortex and the hippocampus
While all the previous research in this area shows that the link between the old and new centers of the brain is critical for memory formation during sleep, the new results show the opposite. The mechanism of memory formation during sleep was equally involved in the two parts of the brain.
