Deja vu: the present becomes a memory
From 1990 was a deja vu of this research topic via modern sciences studying the brain. Recently, scientists have gathered in Marseille on the first scientific conference entirely devoted to this phenomenon, according to Marc Gozlan.
The phenomenon is observed in patients suffering from epilepsy of the temporal lobes. They can perfectly describe this strange feeling, accompanied by unpleasant sensations in the stomach, then they sometimes lose consciousness. As often happens in neurology, pathology allows us to understand the normal functioning of the brain, said the reporter.
The studies of the brain-epileptic patients, scientists have come to the following conclusion: everything happens in such a way that the formation of memories is not perception after the event, and at the same time with him. Currently seen as both a memory and becomes a memory, the article says.
"Explanations on the paranormal, the existence of previous lives in reincarnation, which flourished in the late XIX century, has nothing to do with it," - said the author. Czech researchers have tried to determine whether there are differences between those people who have experienced deja vu, and those who are not familiar with it. The analysis revealed a significant reduction in gray matter volume in people experiencing deja vu. The most significant structural abnormalities related to the field of the medial temporal lobe, which plays a crucial role in the emergence of deja vu epileptic patients.
It only remains to know whether the result of the usual minimum of deja vu epileptic abnormalities, the article said. To confirm these surprising results need further investigation.
